Completed Projects - Academic Facilities

Sanford Hall Sanford Hall: The three-story, 38,000 square-foot building, named for the Sanford family, was dedicated in October 1997. The building is a student center and academic building for the Terry College of Business.

SLC Zell B. Miller Learning Center : Completed in 2003, the Miller Learning Center is a collaborative effort of the University Libraries, EITS, and CTL. The Center is a unique combination of library and instruction space, classrooms, and the best in campus computing and instructional support for faculty.

Broad Street Studios Broad Street Studios: When an old futon store and bicycle shop were renovated in 2001, the Broad Street Studios became home to the School of Art's Interior Design program and Undergraduate Drawing and Painting.

Tanner Tanner: Until 1997, the Tanner Building was the home of the Tanner Lumber Company. Acquired by UGA, the building was totally renovated to become the current home of the School of Arts Graphic Design and Scientic Illustration programs.

Demosthenian Demosthenian: In 1997, Demosthenian Hall received a $200,000 facelift. Financed primarily by alumni donations, the construction work restored the Upper Chamber to its original 1824 layout and color scheme and the floors of the Lower Chamber were uncovered and restored.

Moore Moore College: Renovated in 2001, Moore College is the Unversity's only example of the Second Empire style of architecture. The stuccoed brick exterior has a variety of decorative features, including quoins and a mansard roof complete with dormer windows.

Meigs Meigs Hall : Meigs Hall, a historic North Campus building, was renovated as a teaching-learning facility with technologically advanced clasrooms. Since 1999, Meigs Hall is home to the Institute of Higher Education.

Candler Candler Hall : In 2003 Candler Hall underwent extensive renovations, restoring some of its historic features that were changed or removed during past renovations. The restoration effort won several awards.
